ENERGIZING CITY LIFE STEVENS CENTER (NOVEMBER 2011)

$Norman Coates | Producer LUKE JOHNSON | DESIGNER Luke is a fourth year undergraduate lighting design student who is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work as the production coordinator and as a designer on this project. During the summer Luke works for Atlas Production Group in Raleigh, NC where he has worked for 10 years, and North Carolina Theatre where he has worked for 7 years. Recently, Luke designed the opening gala for the Smithsonian Modern Masters collection at the Reynolda House in Winston-Salem, NC. He is currently very excited to be designing The Mystery of Edwin Drood for the UNCSA School of Drama and Spring Dance for the School of Dance. EUNIO GARCIA-CABA | DESIGNER Born in the Dominican Republic, E.G. is a lighting senior at UNCSA and is extremely excited to be a part of the Winston Salem Light Project 2011. In previous years he has designed Tracers, Emerging Choreographers 2011, Directing Scenes III 2010 and 2011. Recently, he designed Hot L Baltimore by Lanford Wilson. In the near future, he will work on Winter Dance 2011 and Much Ado About Nothing. He would like to thank Asher R, Brian F, Joel G, Katy B, Kevin N, Pam Griffin, and all of those who have helped him for the last 4 years KELSEY JONES | DESIGNER Hailing from the small town of Canton, CT, Kelsey Jones is a senior lighting design major who started working in theaters at a very young age. She is excited about sharing the energy of downtown Winston Salem through this project, and looks forward to designing the lights for Winter Dance at the Stevens Center in February. Her past lighting designs at UNCSA include Spring Dance 2011, Emerging Choreographers, and Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. KEVIN KIRKPATRICK | DESIGNER Kevin is a fourth year undergraduate lighting design major. Kevin has been interested in architectural lighting for many years, and is looking forward to lighting up downtown Winston Salem. Kevin's recent designs include A Streetcar Named Desire for the UNCSA School of Drama, and Shostakovich Hamlet op. 116, at the Aspen Music Festival. Kevin plans on returning to Aspen, CO for a second summer with the music festival after graduation. KENNETH WILLS | DESIGNER Ken is a senior undergraduate lighting design student who recently finished a summer at Weston Playhouse in Vermont assisting the lighting designers throughout the season. Ken also spent a summer at the Tony Award winning Williamstown Theatre Festival. Recently, Ken designed A Soldier\'s Play for the UNCSA School of Drama and Hotel Casablanca for the School of Music. He is currently the Associate Lighting Designer to Brad Fields for 2011 production of The Nutcracker Ballet and designing The Merry Wives of Windsor for the UNCSA School of Music. NICKOLAY I. HRISTORY | FILMAKER Nickolay is currently a design researcher at The Center for Design Innovation in Winston-Salem, NC. He is also Assistant Professor in the Department of Life Sciences at Winston Salem State University. Nickolay has based much of his work on inspiration from nature, focusing mostly on the study of bats and moths in a variety of high speed digital film, 3D modeling and thermal imaging to create presentations which help researchers better understand migration and other patterns within the bat population. For this project, Nickolay has turned his attention to the city of Winston-Salem and delivers and interesting look at the city's relationship with food. Nickolay earned a BS from University of Maine and a Ph.D. from Wake Forest University.$
